You need to be at least 5'8" tall or taller especially for runway. Also it takes a lot more than being pretty to model. Many pretty girls make terrible models and the plain Janes look stunning on film. It takes much more than just a pretty face and a slim figure to make it as a mainstream model. You have to be tall and slim, you have to have very good angles and know how to use them and they will photograph you without any makeup on to see how you look on film. So in other words you have to be very photogenic from every angle of your face. Some elements of being photogenic can be learned, but many of them is at the mercy of genetics. You need good bone structure with a symmetrical and angular face and a good knowledge of your angles, so you need to practise this in the mirror or ask friends to take practise photo's of you. If you want to model then go for it as I'm not trying to get you to change your mind. I just want you to know that even if you have the whole package the modeling industry is a very tough industry to get into and the model agencies are brutally honest with anyone who walks through their doors who want to model so prepare yourself for this. You need to be very thick skinned.

I was on holiday in Italy and was approached by a scouter from Elite Model Management, so my entry into the modeling industry was easy. It is a very hard nut to crack for guys and girls such as yourself who want to model but with lots of hard work and determination it can sometimes be and has been done even if you are a smaller model. Two of the agencies that I'm with have signed smaller models, Elite signed Evelyn and Ford signed Sarina, both girls are 5'4."
